Laser nucleotomy

No endoscopic percutaneous laser nucleotomy compared with other methods of percutaneous discectomy has significant advantages

Back pain and lower back have almost all men over the age of 50 years. Often such pain associated with degenerative-dystrophic lesions of the spine, medication which usually has a positive but temporary effect and is often delayed for years, leading to social exclusion.

With the advent of high-energy laser devices that transmit laser energy to a thin light-guiding fibers, protrusions, and surgical treatment of hernias of intervertebral disks was convenient to carry out the methods of percutaneous laser discectomy. Under this method, a thin optical fiber through the puncture needle is introduced into the disc. Later on the fiber extends sufficiently powerful laser radiation. As a result of physical effects arising from the interaction of radiation with tissue, forming a cavity in the disk.

Percutaneous No endoscopic laser nucleotomy  in comparison with other methods of percutaneous discectomy has significant advantages. The dose of laser radiation can be easily adjusted over a wide range, which ensures strict control of laser irradiation on the intervertebral disc. The use of small-diameter needles and thin fibers (200-600 microns) allows to reach the deep tissues of the spine atraumatic.

By varying the parameters of the laser device, it is possible to achieve positive results in a variety of clinical manifestations of lumbar degenerative disc disease:

  • analgesic effect of
  • dynamic unloading of the spinal canal structures
  • regeneration of the cartilage disc and mechanical properties of the disk uluchschenie
  • stabilization of the vertebral motor segment

This method allows for therapeutic manipulation under anesthesia is safe, significantly reduce the recovery period, to carry out preventive treatment, repeat manipulation and significantly reduce material costs for treatment.

 Indications for use:

  • osteochondrosis of the lumbar and cervical spine, complicated by herniation and development of compression-ischemic radiculopathy
  • instability of the vertebral motion segments I-II degree
  • persistent neck pain, lumbar localization, resistance to conservative treatment for more than 3 months
  • the absence of clear indications for neurosurgical discectomy
  • Somatic contraindications for neurosurgery discectomy and general anesthesia.

Contraindications:

Absolute:

nediskogenny nespondilogenny and nature of pain, confirmed by objective research data (radiographs, CT, MRI)

infectious diseases, mental illness

spondylitis, spondylolisthesis more than II degree

significant (greater than 5 mm) caudal or cranial displacement of sequestration

Relative:

Primary spinal stenosis

The proposed method in most cases (84-87%) in the period from one month to one year after the operation provides a complete resolution of the local situation, lumbar degenerative disc disease pathogenesis and the elimination of vascular disco or disco-radicular conflict.

For the procedure the patient is hospitalized in a hospital for a few hours. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia, the patient is discharged the same day.
