Malignant tumors of the nose and paranasal sinuses

Malignant diseases of the nose and paranasal sinuses - a cancer and sarcoma, as a rule, are primary. They are relatively rare, more common in men, mostly middle-aged and elderly.


The most common primary malignant maxillary affected, then grids, frontal and sphenoid sinus. Rarely a source of cancer is the nasal septum.

Malignant tumors of the paranasal determined by their relatively rapid growth into adjacent organs and tissues. Metastasis usually occurs late.

Tumors of the nose appear early, but their symptoms are not severe at the beginning of the character. Germination of the tumor at the base of the skull, pterygopalatine fossa deep to exclude the possibility of radical excision of the tumor - is held in such patients radiotherapy or regional chemotherapy. Involvement in the process of tumor tissue of the orbit and hard palate allows for a wide surgical resection of the upper jaw. Cosmetic facial deformities remove then with plastic surgery and individual prostheses.
