Although lumpectomy with a course of radiation therapy and is an excellent method of surgical treatment of breast cancer, it is not appropriate for all patients in a row.
Contraindications for lumpectomy
When you have completed a course of radiation therapy in the same breast for early forms of cancer.
If you have a fairly extensive breast cancer, or two separate tumors in the same gland.
You have a very small breasts and a large tumor so that lumpectomy would violate the shape of the breast.
If you have made several attempts to remove the tumor, but it was not possible.
If the patient suffers from connective tissue diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus, or whined, as this would be too pronounced side effects of radiation.
If the patient is pregnant, and radiation therapy is contraindicated.
You do not have opportunities daily to pass radiation therapy.
