Dislocation of radial head Treatment

Dislocation of the radial head - adult radial head dislocations are extremely rare. But in children with a sharp strong pandiculation a straightened handle this kind of damage occurs frequently. Especially in the age of 4 years. Immediately after the trauma the child may have sore arm. Pain does not always occur in the elbow, often the children complain of pain in the lower third of the forearm and wrist in the area. The child holds the arm in the upright condition. Trying to bend the arm at the elbow, causing increased pain.

The diagnosis is established on the basis of the fact of injury and typical clinical picture. X-ray images are usually not found anything.

Treatment.

Anesthesia is usually not carried out. Trauma can easily reduce a dislocation of the hand. In the primary dislocation cast is not imposed, it is enough to fix the handle on the headscarf in 2-3 days. If the dislocations are becoming commonplace, a plaster splint for 2-3 weeks.
