Treatment of hemorrhoids

Treatment of hemorrhoids

Treatment for hemorrhoids depends on such factors as the type, extent and severity of symptoms, duration of the process, the frequency of exacerbations per year, as well as the wishes of the patient. After all, it happens that only a small course of conservative treatment and the patient is literally requires surgical intervention.

To date, there are many ways to treat hemorrhoids. This conservative treatment, and minimally invasive and surgical.

Conservative (ie, drug) treatment of hemorrhoids is mainly aimed at relief of exacerbation. In some cases, at a very early stage of conservative treatment of hemorrhoids and then taking preventive medications and diet and lifestyle changes can lead to a patient for a long time forget about hemorrhoids.

However, after all, conservative treatment of hemorrhoids does not lead to complete recovery from it (as well as conservative treatment of varicose veins does not lead to their extinction).

Among the methods of conservative treatment of hemorrhoids is dominated by a variety of drugs on the local impact of hemorrhoids (candles, creams) and medications used to treat varicose veins.

At present, more and more popular in the treatment of hemorrhoids are less invasive intervention, which is almost as effective as the traditional surgical treatments.

These methods include:
  • Photocoagulation of infrared radiation,
  • Sclerotherapy of hemorrhoids,
  • Ligation of hemorrhoids latex rings,
  • Ligation of the hemorrhoidal vessels under ultrasound kontrlolem

Difference between these methods of treatment of hemorrhoids by conservative therapy is that they lead it to recovery from hemorrhoids. In addition, they have an advantage over traditional surgical methods of treatment of hemorrhoids (hemorrhoidectomy), since less traumatic, more easily tolerated by patients, accompanied by a more rapid and less painful postoperative period.

It should be noted that, despite its advantages, minimally invasive technique is not applicable for any hemorrhoids. In addition, as with traditional hemorrhoidectomy, these techniques are not without risk of complications, and recurrence of hemorrhoids in the future.

All non-invasive methods of hemorrhoid treatment is applied only when the internal hemorrhoids. Minimally invasive techniques are not applicable in inflammatory diseases of the anus and perineum.

The classical hemorrhoidectomy is usually carried out for all other types of hemorrhoids, especially in the later stages of its development. Modern surgical methods of treatment of hemorrhoids that are performed in specialized clinics, can significantly reduce complications, shorten hospital stay, and to achieve good functional results.

So, in what cases, however, shows certain treatments for hemorrhoids?

The 1st stage of hemorrhoids: Showing conservative treatment, photocoagulation or sclerotherapy infrared radiation.

2nd stage of hemorrhoids: medical treatment, photocoagulation of infrared radiation, sclerotherapy, ligation of latex rings, suture ligation and combined methods.

Third stage of the hemorrhoids: ligation is carried out with latex rings, transanal resection of the mucosa by the method of Longo, combined methods, the traditional surgical treatment (hemorrhoidectomy).

Finally, at a very advanced stage of hemorrhoids, fourth, shown only surgery - hemorrhoidectomy.
